UPCOMING EVENTS
Events
PAST EVENTS
Halloween Spirit Week

Members of student life went to the magnet homerooms and gave medical magnet students candy for participating in our spirit week.

Turkey Hands Day

During lunch, student life members had a table for anyone to come up and make turkey hands. It helped build school spirit and end the week off for the holidays. The event was successful and helped show that even as a new program we are able to accomplish events.

Operation Smile is an organization founded in 1982 that fundraises for children born with a cleft lip. Fundraisers won't only include money. There will be multiple service projects done throughout the year, as well as multiple community service trips to help our community around us. Students who join will be given the opportunity to boost their resume, change lives, and transform their community. The ultimate mission is to empower youth globally through education, advocacy, leadership, and service.

Medical Magnet Enhancement Directors (MMED) Board is a leadership club that organizes activities for students of John F. Kennedy High School's Medical Magnet. Our goal is to support students in their interests in going into the medical field as their career.

"The Medical Magnet Enhancement Directors (MMED) Board was developed to provide students within the Medical Magnet a unique leadership experience where their voices could be heard. It is the mission of John F. Kennedy High School to offer relevant education to our diverse student population and to provide them with the skills and leadership ability they will need to become productive citizens in today’s world. The MMED Board offers the perfect opportunity to help achieve this goal. Students are empowered to make a difference on campus and in our local community. MMED Board members are effective communicators, critical thinkers, team players, and responsible individuals."

MMED Board Supervisor

Ms. Richard

"I am the executive leader for my committee which is the Fundraising committee, I help bring their ideas together and contact restaurants or help get details together with the administrators. I became the leader because it was my last year and I wanted to help give back and leave some new ideas for next year class so that our magnet can keep growing and prospering."

Fundraising Committee Leader

Julianna Benitez

"I am the leader of the Media committee in the MMED Board. Our group's objective is to spread the word of what we do in our club and what we have planned. We manage this website and Instagram and update both each week. We make sure that every student is aware of what our Medical Magnet has to offer."

Media Committee Leader

Brooklyn Burgess

"I’m the executive leader for the Advocacy committee. Our goal within the group is to bring awareness to certain illnesses and educate our peers about certain diseases to expand their knowledge about these things. I accepted the position of being the head of the group as it would be an opportunity to do something for our students and I wished to share my ideas with MMED Board in order to allow for a better future in the Medical Magnet."

Advocacy Committee Leader

Lupe Moyotl

"I’m the committee leader of community outreach and public relations. My responsibilities include reminding members of meetings, communicating ideas or a framework to meetings, organizing the workload to members, representing the committee during the spring faculty meeting, and keeping teachers notified of the committee activities."

Public Relations Committee Leader

Leonardo Ramos

"I hold the student life events in the MMED Board. I teach the members how to make events and work with others. I became a leader because I have been in the medical magnet for 3 years and wanted to give back to the school."

Student Life Committee Leader

David Rodriguez
